COPD Telehealth Research Opportunity
Insight Consulting Group is seeking physicians to participate in an upcoming study on COPD
Topic: Telehealth’s role in treating patients with COPD
Method: To understand the specific benefits and challenges of treating patients with COPD via telehealth, we would like to capture one audio recording of a telehealth appointment with one of your COPD patients.
Your commitment: You and/or your staff will identify one patient who meets the criteria of the study, and ICG will provide you with secure tools, consent forms, and technical support to enroll your patient and capture the recording.
Total time commitment: 60 minutes (maximum predicted time)
The patient’s role: Your patient will receive $150 for agreeing to have their telehealth visit recorded and participating in a 15-minute follow-up survey or phone call with an ICG team member.
Additional Details about the Methodology:
Before the appointment:
You and/or your staff will identify appropriate patients for the study. Appropriate patients:
Are diagnosed with COPD
Will be meeting with you via telehealth between now and 6/30/2021
Will be discussing a treatment shift or change related to Handihaler or Spiriva Respimat
We will provide you with information to share with your patient, which outlines the research details
Interested patients will provide you with verbal consent to participate prior to their visit, and will sign our electronic consent waiver
During the appointment:
Please plan to conduct your telehealth visit via Microsoft Teams. We will provide you with a meeting link.
If your facility requires the use of a specific telehealth platform, please let us know and we can arrange a way to record via that platform.
Once you and your patient join the Teams meeting, the session will automatically begin recording and you may conduct your appointment as you normally would.
After the appointment:
An ICG researcher will review the video for personal identifiable information (PII). Any PII will be removed from the recording to protect the privacy of you and the patient.
ICG will ask the patient to complete a short online survey and will compensate patients $150 for their participation
